These horses are on a ranch in west Plano Texas. These guys were curious and excited to see me and really wanted a sugar treat. When I was a young boy I had a horse exactly like the red horse and her name was “Red” and she loved sugar treats.

Last week I flew to Albany in far west Texas to inspect a project we designed for a wealthy owner. We traveled in his helicopter. This scene is at the small airport in Albany and the pilot is pointing out where the helicopter was hit by a sea-gull. I call the scene “Bird Hit”

This scene continues my fascination with the trolleys in uptown near my office. The maintainance facility is right across the street and each morning the workers stage up the trolleys for the days departure. Each morning there is a mini traffic jam creating tension. I tried to reflect that tension in this scene. I entered this painting along with “Vanilla Ice Cream and “Loading Up” in the 2011 Texas and Neighbors Regional Exhibition competition.

In this scene the trolley is being over taken by foreign tourist for a ride up the famous Powell street. Almost everyone is carrying a full back pack and no one is talking. The city is bustling with pedestrians moving quickly and quietly down the sidewalks in every direction going who knows where. The majority of the pedestrians have ear phones in their ears listening to music. I find the energy exciting and refreshing. Most of all I am impressed with the friendliness and kindness of the locals and the tourist.  There were artist everywhere, making art. It was a nice trip.
