Spring Showers in Uptown

This is a scene from uptown right after a rain shower last week. The trolley was empty except for the driver. The sky had started to clear off. I was struck by the reflections and the light even though it was relative dark.


Selected for the Plano 125 Exhibit

My painting “Early Morning Staging in Uptown” has been selected by two renowned artists and curators Michael O’Keefe and Enrique Cervantes for the Plano 125 Exhibit.  The 70 painting show hangs from April 28 to May 29th in the “Art Gallery” in building A at Collin County College. The Arts Gallery is open Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Gallery is located just south of the intersection of Jupiter & Spring Creek, in Plano, in the Collin County Community College campus.  Visit their website for more information and directions: The Reception will be held on May 4,  2011 – 6pm until 8pm, with the awards ceremony at 7pm.

2nd Place Award for “Loading Up”

I am fortunate to have been awarded 2nd place  for Watercolor  by award-winning artist, Marileigh Schulte of Encinitas, California last Sunday in the Texas & Neighbors Regional 5 state art exhibit. There were at least 300 people at the reception, lots of food, flowers and fantastic art. There were around 500 painting entered and 80 were selected for the show. Of the eighty show selections there were a total of 19 awards.   See  for photos and information.

White Rock Lake Sail Boat Reflections

I started this painting while on the SWS White Rock Lake Paint Out last Sunday. I completed the painting in my studio. I gave the painting to Lindsey and Jenny to be in a fund-raiser silent auction. The boats are part of the SMU sailing team.

 I completed  two paintings on the east side of the lake at the sail boat club yards. This was the #2 in the SWS White Rock Lake paint out.

The SWS paint out yesterday was amazing. There were 56 paintings completed of the lake area. I completed  two paintings on the east side of the lake at the sail boat club yards. This was the first.

Rosie Stuck in Traffic

This is a scene on  the corner of Haskell and McKinney Ave in Uptown Dallas and is my second painting on this corner. The trolley is “Rosie” the smallest of the trolley fleet. Rosie is an electric vehicle and holds about 15 riders. In this scene “Rosie doesn’t wait for the traffic behind her and cuts them off, The pick up on the left darted on through the intersection while “Rosie” was honking her horn.
